This 58 Chevy lid was what I would call an "Extreme Part". They are apparently very scarce. The owner wanted it saved and Rustbuster made it possible!! The part was gently sandblasted to remove the rust. It took 400lbs. of sand  to clean the metal thoroughly. We then apply Rustbuster's Secret Spray Weld Technology with our patented sprayable wire. Note the holes are through both sides of the lid. The lid looks great now and is ready for some leveling and blocking. Our welder can repair the rusted metal but, blocking and leveling still requires a skilled  body technician.

Badly rusted lid,"EXTREME" by any means. In the worst possible area. Top surface  and flat. The rust and sandblasting warped the lid so even though we spray the new pure metal in. There is still body work to complete. A coat of body filler needs to be leveled and some blocking with a sprayable filler. We suggest Guide Coating and more blocking. This lid can then be  primed, blocked and ready to paint. The skill of a good body person is needed to level a part like this. But  how else could this part ever be saved?????????????????
